PhotoVersus is a photography and drone equipment reference platform. We provide objective technical scores, community reviews, and price comparisons for cameras, lenses, and drones. References to "we", "us", or "PhotoVersus" mean the operator of this website. Contact: privacy@photoversus.com.

• Account data: email address, username (handle), display name, and password hash (bcrypt, never stored in plain text). If you sign in with Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email, and public profile photo from Google.
• Content you create: reviews, ratings, gallery photos/videos, and price alerts.
• Usage data: pages visited, search queries, comparison history — collected via server logs and, with your consent, analytics cookies.
• Technical data: IP address, browser fingerprint hash (one-way SHA-256, used only for anti-spam), device type.
• Photo EXIF data: when you upload photos we extract and display camera settings (ISO, aperture, shutter speed, focal length). We do not store or display GPS location data.

• To operate your account and authenticate your sessions.
• To display your reviews, gallery contributions, and public profile.
• To send transactional emails: email verification, price drop alerts, and review moderation notifications.
• To detect and prevent review manipulation (anti-bombing system).
• To serve contextual display ads. With your consent we may serve personalised ads through our advertising partners (Google AdSense and other IAB-registered vendors).

PhotoVersus is monetised through display advertising. We use a TCF 2.2-compliant Consent Management Platform (CMP). On your first visit you will see a consent banner. You may accept all, reject all, or manage individual purposes. Without consent we serve only contextual ads (no personal data used).

You can review and change your preferences at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

PhotoVersus participates in affiliate programmes with Amazon (Amazon Associates / PAAPI5), PcComponentes, and MediaMarkt through the Awin affiliate network. When you click a price link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Prices are synced automatically from each retailer. Actual prices may differ from what is shown — always check the retailer's site before completing a purchase.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Infrastructure providers (database hosting, CDN, email delivery) under data processing agreements.
• Advertising partners (with your consent under the CMP).
• Google, only when you sign in with Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0).
• Law enforcement when legally required.

• Account data: retained while active, deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
• Price history: retained indefinitely (aggregate market data, not personal).
• Rejected/removed reviews: retained for 90 days for abuse investigation, then deleted.
• Server logs: 30-day rolling window.
• Price alerts: deleted when cancelled by the user or triggered.

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to: access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent at any time.

In Spain, applicable law includes the GDPR and Ley Orgánica 3/2018 (LOPDGDD). You may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (cost factor 12). Sessions use signed JWT tokens. All traffic is encrypted with TLS. Media is stored in Cloudflare R2 with private-by-default access controls.

We may update this policy occasionally. For significant changes we will notify you by email or via a prominent notice on the site.
